How KCT Began

Once upon a time in calgary...

Kylyne’s Custom Treasures began with two creative souls, Carolyne and Kyle, taking a leap of faith.

In November 2023, after both lost their jobs, they looked at each other and thought, “Why not finally start the business we always dreamed about?” They figured it would be a quick win.

Spoiler alert: it turned out to be a wild adventure filled with failures, surprises and plenty of learning.

At first, branding and marketing were a total mystery. There were late-night brainstorms, plenty of trial and error, and lots of “let’s just see what happens.”

Things started to click when Carolyne and Kyle joined the self-employment program at Business Work Central Alberta. That is when the dragons arrived. If they were going to make 3D printed art, they wanted it to be special and meaningful.

Each dragon got a name, a story, and a personality so everyone could find a little piece of themselves in the collection.

A major “aha” moment came when Carolyne was diagnosed with ADHD at 32. Suddenly, the creative chaos made perfect sense. Both Carolyne and Kyle are neurodivergent, and that became the heart of KCT. Their mission shifted. It was no longer just about selling art. They wanted to create a place where neurodivergent minds feel seen, valued, and celebrated.

KCT is proudly based in Calgary, but their roots reach from Ontario for Kyle to Quebec for Carolyne.

Fun fact: they share the same birthday and year, just a few hours apart. Their home is filled with creativity, laughter, and the occasional cameo from their three cats: Revan, Yoda, and Jelly.

Sustainability matters here too. Carolyne and Kyle do their best to reduce waste and upcycle materials whenever possible. They know they are not perfect, but every bit helps.

Most of all, Kylyne’s Custom Treasures is for anyone who has ever felt “too much” or “not enough” or just wanted to find their people. If you love bold ideas, quirky art, and a community that truly understands, you are in the right place.

Welcome home.

Meet the Founders

Kyle Perry | Co-Founder & 3D Production Specialist 🛠️

"I’ve always loved building things: first K’nex, then LEGO, and now dragons, fidgets, and treasures at KCT.

Growing up with ADHD, ADD, and dyslexia, I learned to see the world a little differently. That’s become my superpower. I turn wild ideas into reality and create a space where feeling “different” is a strength, not a setback.

Sometimes I lose my train of thought or get laser-focused for hours, but that’s part of the magic. My brain’s quirks help me invent, adapt, and connect with others who think outside the box."

Fun Fact:

🎲 "Board game nerd, always up for a great strategy game!"

Carolyne D. Landry | Co-Founder & Lead Designer 🎨

"I’m usually covered in paint, chasing the next idea, and turning a little chaos into something beautiful. Art has always been how I process life... The feelings, questions, and energy that come with being neurodivergent.

When I was diagnosed with ADHD at 32, it was a huge relief. Suddenly, everything made sense. Now, I believe in celebrating our quirks and turning overwhelm into creativity.

KCT isn’t just for artists. It’s for anyone who’s ever felt a little too much, a little out of place, or a little too different."

Fun Fact:

🕵️ "Columbo is my comfort show. I always enjoy it for a cozy reset."

Why it matters:
